Leavin' on a Jet Plane

As the song says, tomorrow I'm leaving on a jet plane, don't know when I'll be back again. Actually, I do know when I'll be back again, but I'm going to keep it a secret since you never know who's blog-stalking your blog nowadays.

Yes, tomorrow I'm getting on a plane for a much-anticipated trip to the Galapagos Islands! The itinerary is chock full of activities and adventures, including time to snorkel with sea lions and chill with giant tortoises on the beach, as well as climb an extinct volcano (sea level to 5,000 feet and back in one day!). What better way to mark my upcoming (numerically painful) birthday than a photo-shoot with the blue-footed boobies in Darwin's former open-air laboratory?

I've had the feeling lately that I am on the cusp of a great and exciting new phase of my life. I don't know when it will begin, nor what it will entail (and, let's face it--this premonition could all be in my head), but I feel that this amazing trip is either the prelude to or the beginning of something that will be truly wonderful.

Stay tuned for photos and the trip report....
