One of the documented best ways to pull yourself out of the emotional doldrums and gain some perspective on your situation is to recognize all the good things in your life. (This study claims it even improves physical health, which I don't doubt can be true to some degree.)
It's trendy right now to keep a gratitude journal, and there's even a website called Thankful For (linked on my sidebar), built around the idea of publicly expressing gratitude for blessings great and small. Another article urges readers to play the Gratitude Game often in order to boost their spirits.
I'm a believer too, which is why I'm going to list here some things I'm grateful for right now.
1. A hot shower this morning
2. A comfortable bed with cozy comforters
3. I have plans tonight, tomorrow, and Thursday; social activities are good!
4. The days are longer and it's light when I wake up in the morning
5. My cough is nearly gone
6. Yesterday was a good day, just the right mix of social contact and down time
7. I can breathe and walk and dress myself and go to the bathroom unassisted
8. February is almost over, which means March is almost here, which means we're that much closer to spring
9. I got to Skype with Amy last week
What are you thankful for?

Lovely list!
Right now I'm grateful for my health too. I think eating healthy has helped my immune system. I have felt colds coming on twice now but with vitamin C and my healthy diet nothings over taken me... yet (knock on wood).
I'm thankful for a new job.
I am always thankful for my dogs.
I'm thankful that my body allows me to do the things I need to do on a daily basis.
It's a good start.
