Snowmageddon, the Sequel

Man oh man am I ever tired of snow! We had finally dug ourselves out (mostly) from the 2+ feet of snow that fell last Saturday when we got another eight inches or so today. And wind that blew it to and fro all day too. Crazy!

All the schools in the region and even the federal government have been closed all week and will be closed again tomorrow. Unprecedented for the government to be closed for so many days in a row! Apparently this is now the snowiest winter in DC in recorded history. RECORDED HISTORY!

I had the foresight this time to pack a bag and come to my sister's house on Monday afternoon (on roads of varying cleared states), where I've been camping out ever since. (Or, as my three-year-old nephew says, I'm having a sleepover.) Here's how I've been spending most of my time:

To fend off cabin fever and get some exercise, when the snow finally let up this afternoon, I bundled up and went outside to dig out my car. I haven't shoveled snow in years and I found it surprisingly satisfying. It's like cleaning: instant gratification. Scoop, toss, see the results right away. I cleared my car and my sister's car and the surrounding area. I'm sure I burned enough calories to justify any number of cookies or brownies I might want to eat tonight and tomorrow.

Here I am with my goose down coat (rated to keep me warm in temps as low as 30 below!), requisite scarf, and my sister's hat.

After all this snow, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for an early Spring.

That kind of fun that you are having a sleepover!

I seriously can't believe how much snow you guys are getting and it's practically spring here in Utah. So weird.

Good luck shoveling out!

P.S. Your coat is SO CUTE!
